RO,
I work with an International youth group all adults have to maintain their annual Adult Certified Volunteers status in order to volunteer to work with these girls. When the girls join the organization both the girls and her parents attend a meeting and the rules are set out very clearly we do not tolerate: there is a long list they get it in writing at the end is one sheet the daughter, parents and ACV will sign it and this will go in the permanent file.
A couple points in particular that is made very clear in this list is no daughter is ever to be alone with an adult. Never is there to be a one on one situation. We have very successful sleepovers all the time. They are truly a blast, sleepover well skip that part that says "sleep" that part never seems to happen!! LOL
If the organization is run properly with rules in place and proper adult supervision you can have a super great time with the kids and zero incidents. And that is why I still enjoy these teenagers when I am 65.
article on angela sdrinis who represents jw abuse survivors in victoria, australia.. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-02-15/lawyers-reveal-trauma-of-representing-child-sex-abuse-survivors/8270008?wt.

Never should the victims feel like they did anything wrong.

The Elders were made aware of it. In the organization I am associated with it makes no difference where it occurs we pickup the phone and call authorities if we suspect any form of child abuse. It could have occurred anywhere.

Settlement also keeps it out if the nedia!!
RO,
The Elders of two congregations knew of these activities from the time she was 14 years old. Someone transported this underage child (14 she was privately reproved and 15 publicly reproved for her part in this child sexual abuse) across state lines. I find this entire thing disgusting that the Elders would find the victim the sinner!! The parents, Elders, and any one who answered a phone call at the branch from the WT should all be fined and jailed. But this is a civil case so I hope she got several million.
Anyone who try to defends the actions of anyone of these people are just as sick as the perverts.

RO,
I was never a JW and ended up on this forum when I got dumped by the "Elder " after 5 yrs for asking the wrong question cause he never told me about his beliefs.
I do not at all get your last statement when everything I hear about is field service and Bible Study to prepare for Baptism. How is this pretty ridiculous, based on experiences from this forum and other sites that is not to ridiculous. Please explain this statement you made:
What the complaint set out in this case was pretty ridiculous in my opinion. In the complaint it talks about how Watchtower should prevent all interaction between any adult and child. Should monitor all activities of congregation members and so forth.

The sad part is JWS will be or are told do not believe the LIES in the media about the Jehovah Witness Organization. Well here is another one of those supposed lies that their Rock Star GB are always ranting about!!
Maybe one day someone will put $1,000 into the contribution box and say where the hell is this money going too? See when I contribute $1,000 to the Shriner's Hospital I get a thank you note in the mail along with some nice pictures of some great kids we have helped AND oh wait and their financial statements and upcoming budgets. Transparency! !!
This cult is just disgusting! !!!
i hope all is well.
my last post over a month ago was going to be the last considering i wanted to get away from all things jw but this place is much harder to ignore than previously thought.
life has taken some very interesting turns since late last year.
Thank you for sharing your story. I was never a JW. But grew up in a very abusive home. I also lost my first son in during childbirth. Congratulations on the twins. I went on to have two kids they are now 31 and 25.
Great job on getting involved with the charity work, it is my biggest passion.
Please keep us posted how things are going for you two.
